The Garden Art Series

An enjoyable, relaxed introduction to the exciting world of design and fabrication … a chance to develop your own design conversation and put your personal imprint on larger scale artwork for your home… as with many design projects, location is paramount and so each design project in the Garden Art series begins with a photo or sketch of the place where your art will go…


Garden Art 1
Prerequisite: basic fusing

Class price includes materials for a selection of exciting project types including in-ground, wall mounted
and hanging.

 

Beginning with a photo or sketch of the location where you want to place your piece of glass art. Expand your fusing skill and scope as you explore the design conversation by conceptualizing, designing - and building- a fused glass element  of up to 16” x 16” for your entry, garden,  patio… or anywhere else, for that matter! Identify core concepts and appropriate scale, develop a design from that understanding, and execute the design in fused glass using a variety of techniques.

First weekend:
Saturday, 9am-12pm
1 week, with homework

Second weekend:
Friday evening, 6 – 8
Saturday, 9 – 4
Sunday, 9 - 3


Garden Art 2
Prerequisite: garden art 1

$375.00
Class price includes material for a selection of challenging and exciting ‘lit’ project types including, in-ground, hanging, and wall-mounted. (Additional material and project options are available at extra cost.)

Beginning with a photo or sketch of the location where you want to place your piece of glass art, using the skills developed in Garden Art 1, expand your design conversation and add another tool to your design toolbox by designing light into your art. 

First weekend:
Saturday, 8am-12pm

1 week, with homework

Second weekend:
Friday evening, 6 – 9
Saturday, 9 – 3
Sunday, 9  - 3

 


Beginning with a photo or sketch of the location  where you want to place your piece of glass art, Carry your design conversation even further, and round out your design toolbox: integrate kinetic concepts to add motion to the color and light elements developed in garden art 1 and 2.

First weekend:
Saturday, 8am-12pm

1 week, with homework

Second weekend:
Friday evening, 6 – 9
Saturday, 9 – 4
Sunday, 9  - 3

Garden Art 3
Prerequisite: garden art 2
